PET Materials

Polyethylene terephthalate is also known as PET beverage bottles. PET is processed in many forms and used in a variety of applications. The most well-known uses include the manufacture of plastic bottles.

Polyethylene terephthalate is technically produced both discontinuously and continuously. It can be synthesized either by transesterification of dimethyl terephthalate or increasingly directly by the reaction of terephthalic acid with ethylene glycol.

PET is break-proof and has a high chemical and mechanical resistance. It is transparent, environmentally friendly and recyclable.

The main areas of application for PET are the production of fibers, moulding compounds, hollow bodies and films.
